Answer Katie S
Brazil nuts are an excellent source of selenium and a good source of magnesium and thiamine. The Brazil nut also known as one of the world’s most radioactive food due to tree accumulation of radium from the soil into the nut. It has been estimated that the concentration of radium in Brazil nut is 1000-fold higher than in other fødevarer.Paranødder is 14% protein, 11% carbohydrates and 67% fat. The fat breakdown is roughly 25% saturated, 41% monounsaturated and 34% polyunsaturated. The saturated fat content of Brazil nuts is among the highest of all nuts, surpassing even macadamia nuts. Because of the resulting rich taste, brazil nuts can often replace macadamia nuts, or even coconuts in recipes. The high fat content in nuts results in their not keeping well, and particularly, shelled Brazil nuts soon become rancid.

  1. Absolutely Brilliant! Have You considered revealing your invention to major mass producers of plastic? This is the kind of thinking that would be an integral part of saving ourselves from the plastic waste crisis! You should really try to get a patent on your ideas, if you haven”t already done so.

  2. maybe you could use this idea for some sort of 3d printer, where you can use your waste plastic and make cool recycling stuff by just printing it!!! do you have some more exact plans of the heater part? thanks for sharing!!! cool!

  3. @web4deb I’m not sure, I think it would – if the holes were larger at the middle of the sheet, and smaller as you get to the surface. how you might say… first make the holes like volcano shaped on both sides of the plastic, and then squish. the tops should collaps toward the center of the hole, leaving the middle of the hole larger diameter than the part closest to the surface.

  4. I Love The Video system I made in a quest to produce growing media from plastic resin (HDPE) for my Aquaponic system It Can Increase My Knowledge

  5. Steady I Really Like This Video This is a system I made in a quest to produce growing media from plastic resin (HDPE) for my Aquaponic system.

  6. You my friend are brilliant! To think you actually made an extruder, using a lego base as a puller / texturizer is incredible.

  7. wow 10/10 for effort, I work on a machine thats almost identical to that but 10 times the size, only difference is out machine uses meccano :) .

  8. The plastic media you made would be a good cover to retain moisture, like mulch except it doesnt turn into dirt =}. But it would be messy to deal with when you could just get a tarp. My sugestion is to deal with holes/circular indentations in the pplasetic. Like a sponge. That may help the plants to actually root, still not seeing why you want it to root in plastic other than its cost effectiveness.

  9. Actually I have a question, how do you get the plastic to the rollers when you are just starting the machine up? Toothpicks? Wtf?

  10. I would love to see you try this again but add some media too the plastic. Like sand or crushed lava rock. There are lots of minerals in Lava that plants seem to like, some more then others I bet.

  11. @ADHuss1 someone on reprap.org created a wiki page that has a bunch of details on the extruder. Check it out first at reprap.org/wiki/Web4Deb_extruder.

  12. web4deb great job, it’s not crude it’s just a prototype that could use some refindment. ;-) I would like to build one of these units to recycle plastic for my 3D printer. Any information you can get me on how to build one would be greatly appreciated. adhuss@hotmail.com

  13. OK I’m confused . . . you said that the plants didn’t seem to like the plastic media, but mostly grew in-between the pot and the surrounding rock media? In that case, will you be using the plastic stuff in your new greenhouse, or looking for another solution?
